Copyright and takedown process

How rights holders and publishers can request removal or changes.

Last updated 19 September 2026

Scope

This process covers requests to remove or amend content that you believe infringes your rights, including copyright, trademark, personality or privacy rights, and requests from publishers who do not wish to be summarised.

How to submit a request

Use the contact form and choose "Copyright or takedown request", or write to the contact form. Please include:

  • the URL of the page on this site;
  • a description of the work or right concerned and, for copyright, a link to the original;
  • your name, your relationship to the rights holder, and a way to reach you;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised.

What happens next

We acknowledge requests within two working days. Clearly justified requests are actioned immediately, usually by removing the item and, for publishers, disabling the source. Where the request is unclear we will ask for more information. We keep a record of takedown requests and outcomes.
