What this site is
Cyber Security News publishes cybersecurity news to make people aware of threats, vulnerabilities, breaches and the defences against them. Reading it requires no account, no registration and no personal data.
No analytics, no tracking of our own
This site itself sets no cookie in your browser and runs no analytics. There are no tracking scripts of our own, no fingerprinting, no social-media buttons that report back and no third-party analytics.
Advertising
To fund the publication, pages show advertising served by Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, to limit how often you see them, to measure them and to prevent fraud, and, if you agree, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other sites. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time. You can also manage personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings. What is technically processed
Like every website, the web server writes standard technical logs (IP address, requested page, time, browser type) so that the site can be kept secure and working. They are rotated automatically by the hosting provider and are never used to identify or profile readers. To show "most read" lists we count how often an article is opened; the count stores the article and the day only, never who opened it.
If you write to us
If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are kept only until the matter is dealt with, then deleted. They are used to answer you and for nothing else, and are never shared or sold.
Links to other sites
Every summary links to the publication that reported the story first. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy practices apply.
Your rights
Under Swiss and EU data protection law you can ask what data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. Use the contact form. Since we keep almost nothing, the answer is usually short.
